Salt Tank are one of the most inflential acts in trance’s long history, with a discography stretching back to the early 90’s with tracks like Eugina & Clone, the former having received countless remix treatments over the years and being a one of a handful of blueprint sfor the balearic trance genre. Therefore, Phoenix’s title could not be more apt. This collection of remixes spans several areas of the Pure Trance sound. First though, of course, to the Voices From The Fire Mix – previously unreleased (but recorded in 2008 and specially remastered for this release) which embodies the beauty of the Salt Tank sound – gently mesmeric layers of synths, light percussion and an incessant bassline take the listener on a beautiful trip through eyes-closed midnight trance music. Of course – the production has a winsome, retro feel to it, but that’s the plan. Now the remix… Allende’s Remix – Cranking up the octane is Sheffield’s Adam Ellis, who extracts the bare essentials from Phoenix and injects them with some peak time #138 adreneline. Welcome back Salt Tank, we missed you.
