Gamers and trance lovers unite! Two of your favorite things have been merged into one musical masterpiece. SoCal DJ and producer Shogun has released his track “Zanarkand,” a melodic and uplifting tribute to the video game Final Fantasy X. Voted “Future Favorite” by the worldwide listeners of Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show #662, “Zanarkand” follows Shogun’s #2 Beatport Trance track “Erhu,” which released in February.
“As an avid video gamer, I knew the theme song from Final Fantasy X was meant to be turned into a trance track” says Shogun. “I want to bring nostalgia to everyone who experienced playing it. To me, it’s like listening to Zelda or Mario–it just holds a special place in a gamer’s heart.”
These latest releases continue to set the stage for what’s to come from Andrew Chen’s debut artist album–unlikely pairings of instruments, emotional piano riffs, and big drops with Shogun’s signature style that keep trance fans begging for more. Look for the album to be released late this summer.
