Aleksander Stawierej better known as Indecent Noise has finished his first year as label boss. His label “Mental Asylum Records” has become the perfect home for dark, twisted and up tempo trance and artists like Bowdidge & Taylor, Eddie Bitar, John Newall and of course Indecent Noise himself. To celebrate the 1st birthday the first mix compilation has been released. Enough things to talk about with Indecent Noise! 😉

TranceAttack: You’re active as producer for more than 6 years now. After all this time you decided in 2012 to launch your own label “Mental Asylum Records”. What’s the reason for your decision?
Indecent Noise: I was tired with dealing with the main labels and their attitude when it comes to signing and releasing harder, uptempo trance music. Also lots of my friends were experiencing the same problem and the idea of having my own label with my own rules had been circling in my head for quite some time. All i needed was the reason. Fortunately Alan Nimmo from Fraction (where I was releasing before on regular basis) was kind enough to help me with setting it up and getting it running.

TranceAttack: The 1st birthday of your label is this August. When you look behind are you happy about the 1st year and the development of the label?
Indecent Noise: Absolutely! I couldn’t be more happier. Mental Asylum has quickly turned out to be a succesful idea and a real home for quality 140bpm music when sounds are getting slower and slower.

TranceAttack: Let us not also look behind. What plans do you have for the future of “Mental Asylum Records”?
Indecent Noise: We have tonnes of music to release in the next few months, our schedule is full untill the January already. Great tracks and remixes coming from names like Mark Sherry, James Dymond, Ben Nicky, Xgenic, Lostly, Bowdidge & Taylor, Eddie Bitar, Jase Thirlwall and of course myself. You won’t be dissapointed thats for sure. Also we will be planning more Mental Asylum nights for 2014!

TranceAttack: As perfect timing for the 1st birthday of “Mental Asylum Records” your Mix-Compilation “Tales From The Mental Asylum: Chapter 1” has been released on 05.08.2013. What’s the idea behind this compilation?
Indecent Noise: The idea was simple: to sum up the first year of the label and make some excitement and buzz for forthcoming releases with my personal mixing touch. When you listen to it you can find some small changes, some additions to the tracks that make the whole mix unique. I’m very happy with the final outcome.

TranceAttack: Let’s go back to you as artist “Indecent Noise”. The first half of 2013 is over. What were your personal highlights?
Indecent Noise: 2013 was an amazing year so far in both as a producer and a dj I’m fully satisfied. I had the opportunity to play at some great festivals and venues around the globe like ASOT600 in Den Bosch, EDC in Las Vegas, Tomorrowland in Belgium, BAT in Buenos Aires, Zombiefest in Mexico to name a few.
I’ve been busy in studio as well. Armin trusted me and let me remix the ASOT600 Anthem. My originals “Disorder”, “Supercharge” and “Protos Heis” did some proper damage on the dancefloor around the globe!

TranceAttack: The voting for the DJmag Top100 poll is actual running and artists like Gareth Emery or Lange made official prompts that they don’t want to be voted for the Poll. What is your personal opinion about the poll? Do you focus on a good ranking?
Indecent Noise: During this years voting I’ve seen so many brilliant PR stunts based on reverse psychology. It’s so cool to be against the poll right now even tho the dj mag poll is the most important ranking in the industry for many promoters or agents when it comes to booking djs. No-one likes it 100% yet everyone takes part in it.

TranceAttack: What are your personal plans for the rest of 2013?
Indecent Noise: I’m locking myself in the studio for 2 weeks to work on new originals. I’ve just finished remixes for Jase Thirlwall’s “Thunderflash” that will be released on Mental Asylum in November and a special remix of one of the Discover classics. Gig wise i have Luminosity Beach, Burning Man Festival in USA, plenty of gigs around Europe, Asia and USA, i think the diary is 90% full to 2014, so good times ahead.

TranceAttack: Other Plans?
Indecent Noise: Same as always: to deliver even more banging vibes in the coming months!

TranceAttack: Thanks for the interview and we wish you all the best for the future!

“Tales From The Mental Asylum: Chapter 1”, the first edition of the showcase series of Indecent Noise’s label comes in two flavours: mixed and unmixed. You receive all titles as full single versions and get an additional continuous DJ mix by the label head. It’s a good mixture of already released and brand new tracks. If you like the darker and harder side of trance this compilation is a must listen!
