Talking about Forever Love… RAM

We had the chance to talk with RAM about his first artist album “Forever Love”, his label, his music and much more! Enjoy reading! 😉

TranceAttack: Hey RAM, great to have you back and the reason couldn’t be better! So first of all, congrats for the release of your debut long-player “Forever Love”. Tell us please, what can the listener expect?
RAM:
I can tell you a lot but I think you need to hear & feel it.. It’s been my way to deal with the last 1.5 years since I lost my wife so this is all pure emotions from that time. For me it’s the best music I made in my whole career. Raw feelings put into music. So the album is about life but translated into sound. With lots of great vocal tunes. 😉

TranceAttack: The album is dedicated to your late wife, Amelia, who sadly passed away in 2013. Can you tell us about the work on the album during the last months?
RAM:
It was a emotional ride and of course great to have finished this part after 1.5 years. Thanks to some great collabs with vocalists that captured my feelings into lyrics it was just a amazing experience to work with this talented people.

TranceAttack: With great collabs with names like Andy Moor or James Dymond, exclusive re-works and vocals with names like Susana, Christina Novelli or Natalie Gioia the album results in a cool mixture without loosing the original RAM sound. Do you have some personal favorites, you want to recommend?
RAM:
I wanted to put a bit from everything into it different styles slow till uplifting but all with emotion and lots of feelings into it. For me the whole album is my recommend don’t have one favo its all magic for me.

TranceAttack: Is there an artist you would love to work together in the studio?
RAM:
Sharon den Adel & Justine Suissa that would be absolute awesome !!

TranceAttack: How did the technical development affect your way to play live and to produce music?
RAM:
Didn’t affect you just go with the flow. You do what you feel is right. Left or right doesn’t make a difference as long as it’s what you feel.
RAM
TranceAttack: Next to your work as Deejay, as Producer and of course your event organization Grotesque and you founded with Grotesque Music your own label! Are you happy with the first year as label manager?
RAM:
Yes very happy it’s nice to work and expand your brand so the logical next step after the events was a label and of course that goes slow in the beginning but step by step it’s getting better so hard work pays off. 🙂

TranceAttack: You established Grotesque as the core brand for your events and your music (with the Grotesque radio show and the label). What plans do you have for the next months with Grotesque?
RAM:
Well, we have hostings this summer on Europe’s biggest trance festival Electronic Family, Summerlake Festival and we host some boat party’s & club nights in Ibiza. And also I will do the Grotesque pres. Forever Love album tour. So lots of great things happening.. And of course my Striclty RAM show on July 25th, 7 hours of the best trance from the last 20 years and my album launch.

TranceAttack: The pre-sale already started for this years Winter Edition of the Grotesque Indoor Festival 2015. Can you tell us some details? What can the guest expect?
RAM:
Yes, it did and it goes very well! 🙂 Well, we changed location for this time. We did 3 years in the Maasslio in Rotterdam but now it was time for something new. So we are moving to the Central Studio’s in Utrecht for this edition. It’s really a great venue to give a great show. We always like to give the people a whole night experience outside of course a great line up. And this year we have a very special surprise too. I think, this will become one of our best shows! 🙂

TranceAttack: What was your best moment in DJing?
RAM:
There is not really one actually. I think the best moments in general are when the people and the dj come together and create that magical vibe where everybody just goes with the flow and your like one with the crowd. And everyone is full of energy and love for the music

TranceAttack: What was the first record you ever bought? And what was your last?
RAM:
First was Human Resource – Dominator, the last one I don’t remember.

TranceAttack: What would surprise our readers? Tell us something uncommon about you?
RAM:
Well, I think I am pretty boring then lol I just work and after that spend time with my son or friends .. that’s pretty much it don’t have much time to be honest. I could use a extra 12 hours in a day! 🙂 I like to cook and be in nature but that’s not really surprising I think …

TranceAttack: Do you have a message for your fans?
RAM:
Thank you all for the love & support it means a lot to me. 🙂 Take a listen to my album and let me know your thoughts!

Music is life, Life is emotions, Emotions is love.. Forever Love! Spread the love !!
