After a break for the Greenstone label, making way for Rolo’s releases on the mighty Anjunabeats this year, he returns to his home imprint but this time with a twist. Having been one half of duo Harper & Green since 2006, it was only a matter of time before the duo had to feature on Greenstone.
“Yule”, named due to the nostalgic Christmas bells is a double serving, featuring a Harper & green mix and of course a Rolo Green mix that Rolo handpicked to appear on the label.
The former features the classic Harper & Green progressive sound, laden with melody and groove, dubbed out FX and percussive stabs, culminating in an epic break down and peak section. Meanwhile Rolo takes this track in an altogether darker and more driving direction, with his signature baseline sound, atmospheric pads, soaring strings and clever use of the original parts to create something entirely his own.
