Armin van Buuren will release A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 digitally through Armada Music on August 28, 2026. The thirteenth installment in the Ibiza compilation series brings together 43 tracks across three mixes—Pulse, Frequency and Energy—moving from Balearic and progressive moods through emotional Trance to high-BPM dancefloor pressure.

Armin van Buuren is preparing the soundtrack to the next Ibiza chapter of A State of Trance.
Armada Music has confirmed that A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 will arrive digitally on August 28, 2026. A physical CD edition is also planned, although its release date has not yet been announced.
The compilation will be released shortly before Armin begins his five-week A State of Trance residency at Ibiza’s [UNVRS], directly connecting the annual mix series with one of the brand’s most important live projects of 2026.
Pulse, Frequency And Energy: The Full Picture
Armin describes Pulse as retaining the Balearic feeling traditionally associated with the Ibiza series while gradually building the energy. Its thirteen tracks combine current melodic and progressive material with recognizable touchpoints such as “Fiji,” remixed by Oliver Smith, and the Andrew Bayer collaboration “Heaven.” The mix also introduces “Starbound,” Armin van Buuren’s new collaboration with ASTRON4UT and the album’s official focus track.
Frequency contains fourteen tracks and represents the part of the compilation closest to the core A State of Trance identity. Opening with the Rising Star treatment of “Everlasting,” it brings together uplifting melodies, emotional vocals and modern main-floor pressure. Ferry Tayle and Tonks’ Mirage project, Bart Claessen, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Ilan Bluestone, Richard Durand and Key4050 provide the Trance foundation, while Space 92, Argy and Frankyeffe push the second half towards a tougher contemporary club sound.
Energy is the longest of the three mixes with sixteen tracks. Conceived as a direct homage to the dancefloor, it focuses on higher tempos, rave energy and increasingly forceful production. The sequence moves from “U Got 2 Know” and a new generation of harder club records into updated classics including “Solarcoaster” and “Status Excessu D,” before closing with Armin van Buuren and Mary Jensen’s “Go All Night” and MaRLo’s “The Magic.”
“Starbound” And Three Returning Classics
“Starbound,” Armin van Buuren’s collaboration with ASTRON4UT, remains the compilation’s official focus track. The complete tracklist, however, shows that the album’s connection to Trance history extends much further than initially announced.
The three previously teased catalogue updates are now confirmed as:

This makes A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 more than a snapshot of the current release landscape. Its tracklist repeatedly connects established melodies and defining moments from Trance history with the faster, harder and increasingly genre-fluid production style of 2026.
The Soundtrack To Armin’s [UNVRS] Residency
A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 will arrive shortly before Armin van Buuren begins his A State of Trance residency at [UNVRS].
The residency runs across five consecutive Mondays from September 7 to October 5, 2026, with Armin performing an extended five-hour set each week.
This timing gives the compilation a clear purpose beyond documenting the current release landscape. It is positioned to establish the musical identity of the residency before its opening night.
The first confirmed artists suggest a broad interpretation of that identity. Andrew Bayer, Matt Fax and Solarstone point towards melody and progressive development, while Giuseppe Ottaviani, MaRLo and Richard Durand indicate a stronger main-floor and uplifting dimension. BLR represents the increasingly fluid area between progressive house, melodic techno and Trance.
The project therefore appears designed to connect Armin’s current festival and club sound with the history of A State of Trance.
Its central challenge will be cohesion. The final mixes must turn that wide stylistic spectrum into a convincing progression rather than three loosely connected playlists.
TranceAttack First Impression
The complete tracklist gives A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 a much clearer identity.
Its progression is deliberate: thirteen tracks establish the Pulse, fourteen tracks bring the emotional and melodic Frequency, and sixteen tracks release the full Energy. Rather than assigning each mix to a rigid genre, Armin uses them as stages in a continuous escalation.
Frequency appears to represent the compilation’s most traditional A State of Trance chapter, while Energy reflects the current high-BPM convergence of Trance, techno and rave music. Pulse provides the melodic and progressive entry point, although its selection already indicates that the build towards the club will begin early.
The strongest theme running through all three mixes is the interaction between heritage and renewal. Familiar records are not simply included for nostalgia; they are reframed through artists such as Oliver Smith, Sneijder, Talla 2XLC, Space 92, SUPERSTRINGS, Bouras and Dan Harrison.
Whether all 43 tracks form a fully cohesive three-part journey will depend on Armin’s transitions and pacing. That final judgment will have to wait until the complete mixed album arrives on August 28th.
