Armin van Buuren will release A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 digitally through Armada Music on August 28, 2026. The thirteenth installment in the Ibiza compilation series features three mixes—Pulse, Frequency and Energy—spanning melodic house, progressive, Trance and peak-time club music.

Armin van Buuren is preparing the soundtrack to the next Ibiza chapter of A State of Trance.
Armada Music has confirmed that A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 will arrive digitally on August 28, 2026. A physical CD edition is also planned, although its release date has not yet been announced.
The compilation will be released shortly before Armin begins his five-week A State of Trance residency at Ibiza’s [UNVRS], directly connecting the annual mix series with one of the brand’s most important live projects of 2026.
Pulse, Frequency And Energy
The compilation will be divided into three separately curated mixes: Pulse, Frequency and Energy.
This structure was introduced on the regular A State of Trance 2026 compilation and replaces the former On The Beach, In The Club and Who’s Afraid of 138?! format.
According to Armada Music, the Ibiza edition will move through melodic house, progressive, Trance and peak-time club music. The exact allocation of artists and tracks across the three mixes has not yet been revealed.
Based on the concept used earlier in 2026, Pulse is expected to represent the more atmospheric and progressive side of the album, while Frequency should move towards club-focused Trance and Energy towards its fastest and most forceful material.
This remains TranceAttack’s editorial expectation rather than an officially confirmed description of the final mixes.
“Starbound” And Three Returning Classics
The first major exclusive confirmed for the compilation is:

Armada Music identifies the collaboration as the compilation’s focus track. A separate release date, version length or official premiere has not yet been announced.
The album will also feature new interpretations of three important tracks from Armin van Buuren’s catalogue:

- Armin van Buuren Presents Gaia – Status Excessu D (ASOT 500 Theme)
- Armin van Buuren – I Live For That Energy (A State Of Trance 800 Anthem)
The artists behind the new versions and their exact titles remain unknown. It is therefore not yet clear whether they will appear as conventional remixes, collaborative reworks or newly produced updates.
Together, the three selections connect different stages of A State of Trance history: the vocal legacy of “Shivers,” the large-scale event era represented by “Status Excessu D” and the modern festival sound of the ASOT 800 anthem “I Live For That Energy.”
The Soundtrack To Armin’s [UNVRS] Residency
A State of Trance, Ibiza 2026 will arrive shortly before Armin van Buuren begins his A State of Trance residency at [UNVRS].
The residency runs across five consecutive Mondays from September 7 to October 5, 2026, with Armin performing an extended five-hour set each week.
This timing gives the compilation a clear purpose beyond documenting the current release landscape. It is positioned to establish the musical identity of the residency before its opening night.
The first confirmed artists suggest a broad interpretation of that identity. Andrew Bayer, Matt Fax and Solarstone point towards melody and progressive development, while Giuseppe Ottaviani, MaRLo and Richard Durand indicate a stronger main-floor and uplifting dimension. BLR represents the increasingly fluid area between progressive house, melodic techno and Trance.
The project therefore appears designed to connect Armin’s current festival and club sound with the history of A State of Trance.
Its central challenge will be cohesion. The final mixes must turn that wide stylistic spectrum into a convincing progression rather than three loosely connected playlists.

The three-mix structure, exclusive “Starbound” collaboration, returning catalogue tracks and connection to Armin van Buuren’s Ibiza residency position it as an important A State of Trance release for 2026.
The confirmed names suggest an ambitious journey through progressive, melodic, uplifting and peak-time music. Whether those elements form a coherent whole can only be judged once the full tracklist and complete mixed album are available.
