Others somehow slipped through the cracks. Ultra's “Free” belongs firmly in the second category. Back to 2006, when Tiësto joined forces with the unmistakable voice of Faithless frontman Maxi Jazz for a track that carried a message far beyond the dancefloor. Before smartphones. Before everyone watched the night through a screen. Just the music, the lights and thousands of people completely lost in the moment. Some Trance records don’t just bring back memories — they transport you somewhere else completely. Back to 2001, when DJ Shog dropped his breakthrough single “This Is My Sound” at Club Rotation. That unmistakable vocal hook, the tension-building break, and the powerful lead still capture the raw energy of early-2000s Trance.
