That came unexpected… Played by Spencer Brown at Tomorrowland 2018 and by Jono, Tony and Paavo as opening track at Group Therapy 300, the beautiful collab of these four musical Geniuses has been announced for an official release.”Long Way From Home” was written by Spencer & Paavo during the Above & Beyond Common Ground World Tour and finalized together with Jono & Tony. For sure one of the most hyped tracks of 2018… And to be honest… this is totally deserved!
Paavo about the creation: Both Spencer and myself know all too well what it’s like being a touring musician. Leading a life full of totally amazing high moments but also of lonely moments in hotel rooms far away from home. We were in Australia when this song was written, we’d both been travelling for hours. We were feeling somewhat lost and lonely and ended up spending the day together talking about it all.
We found ourselves writing this song, using a makeshift hotel room studio, a telly as our sound system, just pouring our feelings into this track: working title “What Are We Doing?”. Both of us left Melbourne feeling it would be amazing to have a vocal, something to connect people with the story of the track. We sent it to Hendrick of RBBTS (along with a picture – you can see it in comments) and a story of how we’d been feeling.
We got back a vocal that really resonated with us. Five months went by, the track sounding better each week with the help of Jono and Tony. Today, we are so happy to finally share it with you.

I am secretly, silently falling apart

In 2014 I went to an @aboveandbeyond show as a fan and was shocked to hear one of my own tracks. In 2016 I signed with Anjuna. In 2018 we toured the world together and wrote a song together along the way. Life is full of crazy surprises, twists, and turns, but never give up on your dreams. I can't even count how many times I've been ignored or was told that my music would never lead to a career. I hope you all take this to heart and keep pushing until you achieve your aspirations. Push aside anyone who says you can't. Anyway…should we release our collab? 🤔 #LongWayFromHome
