Richard Durand revisits Andrew Rayel’s “My Ocean”, transforming the atmospheric EXTASIA vocal production into a 138 BPM main-floor Trance release. Featuring Diandra Faye’s expressive vocals, the remix arrived on October 23, 2026, through Rayel’s Find Your Harmony label, bringing a new club-focused perspective to one of the more introspective recordings from his EXTASIA project.
From atmospheric Vocal Trance to main-floor territory
Originally released in March 2026, “My Ocean” introduced a more contemplative side of Andrew Rayel’s EXTASIA sound. Rather than relying entirely on immediate festival impact, the production was presented as an immersive, emotionally driven experience, with Diandra Faye’s vocals providing its central expressive element.
The original subsequently appeared on EXTASIA – part one, Rayel’s fourth studio album, released on April 3, 2026.
Richard Durand’s interpretation gives the composition a new setting. Classified as main-floor Trance and retaining the original’s 138 BPM tempo, the remix targets a more energetic club environment without requiring a fundamental increase in speed.
That contrast is central to the release: an atmospheric vocal composition being revisited for a different dancefloor context.
Richard Durand brings a new perspective to “My Ocean”
Richard Durand has long been associated with the driving, melodic side of Trance, making him a natural choice to revisit a production with an already established emotional foundation.
The remix also illustrates an important distinction between tempo and intensity. Both extended versions run at 138 BPM, yet the remix is positioned more directly toward peak-time play. The original lasts 5:20, while Durand’s extended interpretation runs for 5:44.
For a vocal production such as “My Ocean”, the challenge is finding the right balance between emotional depth and dancefloor energy. Diandra Faye’s contribution gives the composition its human element, while the remix format opens the door to a more assertive club presentation.
The decisive artistic question is whether that additional energy reinforces the original composition’s emotional identity rather than simply making it louder.
Another chapter in Andrew Rayel’s EXTASIA project
The release also fits into a broader series of remix interpretations surrounding Rayel’s 2026 EXTASIA material.
In September, Giuseppe Ottaviani delivered a remix of “Dreaming”. Richard Durand’s “My Ocean” follows that direction, bringing another established Trance producer into Rayel’s current musical catalogue.
The remix also received early exposure through Find Your Harmony 515 on October 21 and Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance 1300 on October 22, immediately ahead of the official single release.
These appearances underline its positioning within the contemporary main-floor Trance scene.
TranceAttack verdict
Richard Durand’s Remix of “My Ocean” brings together several compelling ingredients: Andrew Rayel’s emotional songwriting, Diandra Faye’s vocal contribution and Richard Durand’s experience with club-focused Trance.
Its particular appeal lies in the meeting of two musical perspectives. The original was conceived around atmosphere and emotional expression; the remix offers that material a different role within a Trance set.
Whether it ultimately stands out as a genuinely memorable reinterpretation will depend on the balance of vocal, melody, arrangement and dancefloor payoff. Those details require a final listening assessment before a definitive TranceAttack rating can be assigned.
