Armin himself introduced the record by asking what Red Hot Chili Peppers’ By the Way might sound like if it were made as a Trance song. The Rising Star name has always represented a particular side of Armin van Buuren.
When he revived the alias for Safe Inside You, Armin described it as a return to the “classic sound” associated with the earlier days of Trance and A State Of Trance. Armada has continued to frame later Rising Star versions around energy, emotion and uplifting intent.

While the parallel 135 BPM Extended Mix places the song comfortably inside Armin’s contemporary main-floor world, the Rising Star Remix increases the tempo to 140 BPM and gives the material a much more traditional Trance identity.

That is precisely where the Rising Star concept proves its value.

Reworking a melody as famous as By the Way is always a gamble.
The immediate recognition gives Take Me Home an enormous advantage, but it also risks making the record dependent on nostalgia rather than developing an identity of its own.
The Rising Star Remix largely avoids that trap.
By accelerating the track to 140 BPM and rebuilding it around a more traditional uplifting structure, Armin turns the borrowed melody into the foundation of a genuine Trance record rather than simply placing it inside a dance production.
Poppy Baskcomb’s vocal gives the familiar topline a completely different emotional character, while the Rising Star treatment adds exactly the kind of drive and release that the slower version only hints at.
The original melodic idea may come from another world, but this version feels unmistakably at home in ours.
