Factor B and Lostly revive one of Factor B’s defining vocal records as Lost Minds, transforming “Crashing Over” into a 138 BPM Main-Floor Trance return that preserves Cat Martin’s emotional core while giving the track a more contemporary peak-time identity.
A familiar emotional core in a new setting
“Crashing Over” does not need to be reinvented from scratch.
Factor B and Cat Martin’s original already carried the ingredients that made so many of Factor B’s strongest vocal records work: emotional directness, a memorable vocal centre and enough melodic scale to turn intimacy into a full trance-floor moment.
The 2019 release became one of the pair’s notable collaborations, reaching #2 on Beatport’s Trance chart and later finishing #24 in A State of Trance’s Tune of the Year voting.
Seven years later, Lost Minds approach that material from a different perspective.
Rather than changing the tempo or harmonic foundation, Factor B and Lostly give the record a new club context. Cat Martin remains the emotional anchor, while the surrounding production shifts the emphasis toward a more immediate, modern main-floor identity.
Lost Minds turn a catalogue favourite into part of their own story
The remix also carries more context than the usual catalogue revisit.
Factor B and Lostly debuted their Lost Minds project on the Dreamstate SoCal mainstage in November 2025, and their version of “Crashing Over” was already part of that first set.
That makes the eventual FSOE release feel less like a retrospective remix and more like the formal arrival of a track that has already helped define the Lost Minds sound in a live environment.
The pairing makes sense. Factor B brings the emotional storytelling and melodic sensitivity associated with his best work, while Lostly adds a complementary club-focused perspective. “Crashing Over” sits directly at that intersection.
Emotion without sacrificing peak-time energy
What makes the remix work is the balance between recognition and renewed momentum.
Cat Martin’s vocal remains the point of emotional connection. It carries the history of the original and ensures that the remix still unmistakably feels like “Crashing Over”.
Around it, however, the track now belongs much more naturally in a contemporary peak-time trance set. At 138 BPM, it has the pace required for the main floor without pushing the vocal into unnecessarily aggressive territory.
That balance has already found support beyond the Lost Minds live sets: Solarstone selected the remix as his Big Tune on Pure Trance Radio 493 immediately ahead of release.
TranceAttack verdict
Revisiting a respected vocal track is always a balancing act. Change too little and the remix becomes unnecessary; change too much and the emotional connection that justified bringing the record back disappears.
Lost Minds find a convincing middle ground.
The original melody and Cat Martin’s vocal still provide the heart, but Factor B and Lostly give “Crashing Over” a reason to return in 2026. Its significance comes not from nostalgia alone, but from the way it connects an established Factor B favourite with the developing identity of Lost Minds.
That makes this more than a catalogue refresh. It feels like an older chapter being deliberately pulled into Factor B’s current story — without losing what made the chapter worth returning to.
