Released on June 15, 2015, through Flashover Recordings, Ferry Corsten presents Gouryella – “Anahera” marked the return of the Gouryella project 13 years after “Ligaya”. Built around a driving 132 BPM rhythm, spacious breakdown and sweeping melodic theme, the instrumental uplifting Trance production brought Gouryella’s distinctive emotional sound into the mid-2010s. Its reception ultimately extended beyond the comeback itself, earning the listener-voted A State of Trance Tune of the Year 2015 title.
Ferry about his Gouryella comeback: “After a long time, I suddenly got the inspiration for this fantastic uplifting trance melody that had a big nostalgic feel for me. Everything came together in the studio just perfectly. Giving Anahera the Gouryella alias was the only possible option for me…”
“Anahera” is best described as melodic uplifting Trance with an epic, atmospheric character. Its 132 BPM rhythm provides a steady foundation for layered synthesizers, a spacious melodic breakdown and a soaring lead theme.
Rather than relying on aggressive drops or vocals, the production builds its emotional impact through melody, harmony and gradual arrangement development. This connects the track to Gouryella’s earlier sound while retaining the production clarity of its 2015 release era.
