Johan Gielen presents Airscape – Pacific Melody (Kryder’s Balearic Breaks Mix)

Airscape’s ‘Pacific Melody’ is one of those genre classics that, either by luck or judgment escaped re-release overload. Johan Gielen’s turned the keys over to English producer Kryder for its first official outing in many a moon. With reworks of Chicane’s ‘Saltwater’ and ‘Offshore’, Solarstone’s ‘When I Dream’ and York’s ‘On The Beach’ already under his belt, it’s fair to say he has a knack for Balearic!

For ‘Pacific Melody’, Kryder’s opened a wider artistic lens to create a remix with touchstones that imaginatively reach both pre-and-post Johan’s original. In terms of its title, ‘Balearic Breaks Mix’ captures much of its nature, as Kryder wafts that Med essence while using powerful 4/4 kicks to amp its breaks. Yearning sub-melodies, feelgood Italo-house piano, and the transportive power of ‘Pacific Melody’s halcyon vocal cry all ensure its hot-season feels are laid bedrock-deep.
