Continually striving to provide a platform for emerging talent to showcase their sounds, Markus Schulz’s collaborative X project is an excellent means to do just that.
For the third entry in the series, he works with Copini on the dark-layered tones of Atlas. The track builds upon previous associations in the series with William Schneider (Through the Galaxies) and Arkham Knights (Vanderbilt), and welcomes Brazilian Copini to the fold; after initial carvings on Coldharbour Black such as Lost and Open Your Eyes.
“Atlas” serves a dual purpose, forming part of Schulz’s vision for the newly released In Search of Sunrise 18 compilation. Hypnotically brooding from the outset, Atlas is an exploration that thrives in the small hours of a club, evidenced in recent solo set performances at Avalon in Los Angeles and Ministry of Sound in London. Delighting melodic techno followers, it’s a strong effort by both in this latest X entry.
