More than two decades after “Beautiful” became one of Orkidea’s defining records, Bryan Kearney finally releases his long-requested rework. The result is a 138 BPM peak-time revival that preserves the classic’s innocence, atmosphere and soaring melody while giving it the physical strength required for today’s biggest Trance floors.
From an Ambient Gift to a Trance Classic
The history of “Beautiful” reaches further back than its 2005 single release. Orkidea originally created the music around 25 years ago as an ambient downtempo piece for a friend’s short film, while also preparing a version as a gift for his grandparents.
That background remains audible in the composition. Beneath every kick, build-up and euphoric lead is a melody defined by warmth and emotional simplicity. The 2005 release—and particularly the celebrated Alt+F4 Remix—transformed that intimate idea into a genuine Trance classic.
This connection is important. Although the new version is officially titled “Bryan Kearney Rework”, its euphoric architecture and use of the memorable film dialogue unmistakably continue the legacy of the Alt+F4 interpretation.
Bryan Kearney Adds Power Without Erasing the Heart
Bryan Kearney created the rework for his own sets in 2018, but it remained an unreleased white label for eight years. Its eventual arrival therefore feels less like the introduction of a new remix and more like the official release of a record that has already built its own history on dancefloors.
Kearney establishes the track with a forceful kick, tightly controlled rolling bass and filtered melodic signals. The production immediately carries his characteristic authority, yet he resists turning “Beautiful” into an aggressive Tech Trance record. The rhythm section supplies momentum while the melody remains the central destination.
The breakdown strips away that weight and allows the classic elements to breathe. Expansive pads, the dialogue sample and the familiar melodic progression recreate the sense of wonder that made “Beautiful” so enduring. As the tension rises, Kearney gradually expands the theme before releasing it through a broad, euphoric lead and considerably more powerful low end.
Classic Trance Emotion at 138 BPM
At 138 BPM, the rework has all the pace required for a modern peak-time set. Stylistically, however, it belongs to Uplifting Trance and the ongoing Classic Trance revival. Its energy comes from melodic release rather than abrasive sound design, psy-influenced bass patterns or heavy tech stabs.
The E-flat Minor key also gives the production a valuable emotional contrast. The melody feels radiant without becoming excessively sweet, while a subtle undercurrent of melancholy remains present beneath the euphoria.
Made for the Final Moments
“Beautiful” works especially well as a closing record. Its extended arrangement provides practical space for DJs, but its emotional resolution gives it a sense of finality that extends beyond ordinary set functionality.
That role has already been tested repeatedly in Bryan Kearney’s performances. Its placement as the last track on Pure Trance XI was equally fitting: after four hours of progressive movement, classic references and increasingly energetic Trance, “Beautiful” provided the compilation with its natural hands-in-the-air conclusion.

Bryan Kearney does not attempt to rewrite “Beautiful”; he returns it to the dancefloor with the scale and power its melody deserves. The rework honours Orkidea’s original emotion and the essential legacy of the Alt+F4 Remix while transforming both into a formidable modern closing record. Its greatest achievement is that the stronger production never overwhelms the sense of innocence at its core. After eight years as a sought-after white label and around 25 years of musical evolution, “Beautiful” has finally reached its most powerful form.
