Paul van Dyk and Sean & Dee – Fragmentation

At the start of this year, Paul Van Dyk embarked on an adventurous journey into uncharted territory, pushing boundaries – a fact that always delights his fans, who are accustomed to and eagerly anticipate his innovative creations. One such gem of musical ingenuity is his newest concept, Venture X. Taking this perspective into account, his most recent release with Sean & Dee, on the newly launched sub-label Vandit Alternative, piques considerable curiosity and challenges the imaginations of the fans, in addition to their desire to welcome art that, beyond generating profound energy, is a beautiful expression of emotions and ideas worth interlaced into the very fabric of the music – an extensive, ample musical experience, one of the PVD’s hallmarks. This time, it appears to explore philosophical realms, venturing to the fringes of conventionality, as many of us know it. In Vonyc Session 876, PVD extends an intriguing invitation to his fans: “If you want to get to the deeper meaning of this song, there is a video premiering very soon…”

The initial sparks of ideas, upon hearing the track and catching glimpses of the video, give rise to the following story: “At the top of a high hill, a traveler looks at the night sky. He sees the stars, their different shine, he sees contrasts, fragmented twinkling light dancing upon the tapestry of the heavens and on the fabric of its own sight. Somehow, he senses their vibrations, as they fill the space with their life. Once again, a surge of awareness washes over the traveler – an epiphany born from fragments, because of the discordance and its beautiful movement. The fragments, the conflicts, urge him to see the whole and create a sense of awareness. Unity in his perception, wholeness in his vision. “There is fragmentation in the fabric of life and each fragment harbors a sense of completeness”, he thinks, recalling fragments of wisdom encountered elsewhere. “Life is motion and the very substance of movement evokes feelings of fragmentation”. The traveler feels the spaces between the fragments as filled with beauty, and perceives them all as an amazing wave of great music… “A very good time to discover extraordinary”, he said out loud, while putting on his headphones and resuming his journey. He is seconded by the wind, sharing his words as bright fragments of refined sound and beautiful energy.”
