Released in 1993, Quench’s “Dreams” captures Trance at a formative moment. Written by Australian producer C.J. Dolan and co-produced with Sean Quinn, the track combines atmospheric pads, hypnotic momentum, bell-like accents and an instantly recognisable sweeping synth refrain. After emerging through Australia’s Sirius Music, “Dreams” travelled internationally, reaching No. 9 in France, earning an ARIA Award nomination and later becoming a UK dance-chart hit. More than three decades on, its stripped-back but euphoric sound remains a vivid link between the early-1990s rave underground and the melodic Trance language that would develop later in the decade.
