Now German Legends Cosmic Gate have been given the honor to remix Rank 1’s legendary “L.E.D. There Be Light”: the massive opus that was chosen to define Trance Energy’s 10-year anniversary back in March 2009.
As it starts, you can taste a bit of the old “Analog Feel” Cosmic Gate in the polished Techno-styled percussion and raw sounds. Only one minute in and the Cosmics already reveal the epic L.E.D. main lead. The very first drop follows and it’s deep, folks! Of course, when one remixes a tune like L.E.D. There Be Light, it would be a pity to leave out its short but delightful string segment. The Cosmics deploy it for their breakdown, and follow it up with a typical Cosmic Gate variant of L.E.D.’s main lead, making sure to back it up with some extra loaded saws in the background. The next climax follows and the drop hits HARD! If the first climax left you wanting, the second one will surely satisfy you as they use the L.E.D. lead in full effect. Throughout this remix you can taste the vibes they deployed on their Materia Chapter One and Two albums, as it rides on the same mix of a deep progressive groove with some techy stabbing elements for a rougher edge. We get a short string reprise before the track winds down all deep and techy. Yes folks, L.E.D. There Be Light is BACK.
