Sunlounger, AïA and Lake Silver bring Balearic emotion into a distinctly modern Progressive Trance framework with “Rise Again”. Released via Black Hole Recordings on October 2, 2026, the 124 BPM collaboration combines the warmth traditionally associated with Sunlounger with a deeper, more contemporary club pulse.
Balearic warmth meets modern progressive drive
“Rise Again” immediately feels familiar without sounding nostalgic.
The emotional warmth, open-air atmosphere and melodic optimism all connect naturally with the Sunlounger identity, but the production moves at a considerably slower and more progressive pace than traditional uplifting Trance. Rather than pushing towards an explosive peak-time payoff, the track lets its atmosphere and songwriting carry the momentum.
That approach gives the record room to breathe. At 124 BPM, the groove feels measured and flowing, creating a bridge between contemporary melodic club music and the more emotional end of Progressive Trance.
Black Hole itself describes the track through exactly that crossover perspective, presenting it as a meeting point between Sunlounger’s Balearic roots and today’s melodic house and techno sound.
Emotion comes before impact
The vocal and songwriting form an important part of “Rise Again”.
Instead of treating the vocal as little more than a breakdown device, the production appears built around the song’s emotional centre. The result is melodic and hopeful without becoming overly sentimental, while the underlying club rhythm keeps enough movement in the track for it to work beyond pure listening environments.
That balance is particularly important here. “Rise Again” does not need a 138 BPM uplifting drop to communicate its Trance identity. Its sense of journey comes through atmosphere, melody and progression rather than sheer speed.
Sunlounger continues to evolve
Sunlounger is the long-running Balearic-focused alias of Roger Shah, and “Rise Again” shows how that identity can evolve without simply recreating the classic sound of records such as “White Sand” or the early Another Day On The Terrace era.
AïA has also become increasingly connected to Sunlounger’s 2026 output, appearing on “We All Have To Fall” and remixing “Children Of The Cosmos”, while Lake Silver brings a catalogue that already moves comfortably between progressive, melodic and Trance territory.
The collaboration therefore makes sense stylistically: Roger Shah’s Balearic instinct provides the emotional identity, while the broader progressive influences pull that sound firmly into 2026.
TranceAttack verdict
“Rise Again” succeeds because it does not attempt to recreate yesterday’s Sunlounger.
Instead, Sunlounger, AïA and Lake Silver take the project’s familiar Balearic warmth and place it inside a slower, modern progressive framework. The result feels equally comfortable at sunset, early in a progressive set or during the melodic build towards more driving Trance.
Listeners looking for classic uplifting Sunlounger may initially miss the faster pulse and bigger euphoric release. But judged on what the track is trying to achieve, its restraint becomes one of its strengths: emotional without becoming oversized, contemporary without losing the identity behind the Sunlounger name.
