Anthony Reyers will step away from live performances in 2027

The Belgian half of the Dutch-Belgian trance duo plans to play his final show towards the end of 2027, as progressive hearing loss connected to a rare genetic condition continues to affect his ability to perform. It is a decision he has chosen to make on his own terms — with gratitude for the journey so far and the intention to make every remaining dancefloor moment count.

For more than a decade, Anthony has been a highly visible and much-loved part of the XiJaro & Pitch experience. Alongside Xander van Dommelen, he has helped shape one of the most recognisable sounds in modern uplifting trance: emotional melodies, high-energy drops, powerful vocals and the kind of euphoric atmosphere that works just as naturally in an intimate club as it does on a festival mainstage.

XiJaro & Pitch have brought that sound to some of the world’s most important electronic music stages, including Tomorrowland, A State Of Trance, Transmission, Dreamstate, EDC Las Vegas and UNTOLD. Their sets have always felt particularly personal — built around connection, emotion and the unmistakable feeling of thousands of people sharing one moment together.

Anthony’s story makes that connection even more meaningful. He discovered trance at the age of nine and was already hosting his own FM radio show in Belgium by the time he was thirteen. Over the years, the dancefloor became much more than a place to perform; it became a space where music could be felt beyond what could simply be heard.

“I’d much rather choose the moment myself than wait for my health to make that call for me.”

That sentiment gives the coming eighteen months an understandably emotional weight. However, this is not a farewell to XiJaro & Pitch as a whole.

XiJaro & Pitch will continue as a studio project

Anthony and Xander will continue writing, producing and releasing music together from the studio. Their debut artist album is currently in development and is planned for release within the next eighteen months — a major next chapter for a project that has consistently balanced uplifting trance energy with genuine emotional depth.

XiJaro & Pitch’s journey on TranceAttack

For TranceAttack readers, XiJaro & Pitch’s journey has been visible across several standout releases in recent years. From the soaring vocal emotion of “Beauty In My Scars” with Susana and the festival-ready intensity of “When Nobody Cares” with Christina Novelli, to their acclaimed reinterpretation of Solarstone & IKO’s “Once”, the duo have repeatedly shown how much range can exist within the uplifting trance format.

Most recently, XiJaro & Pitch also explored a tougher, more mainstage-driven direction alongside Artento Divini on “The Blind Eye”. Looking further back, their work with Daxson on the Transmission Theme 2023, “The Awakening”, underlined just how naturally their sound belongs in the biggest rooms in trance.

What comes next for XiJaro & Pitch

The next year and a half will now become a celebration of that journey. XiJaro & Pitch are expected to focus their remaining live activity around special club and festival appearances, while continuing the creative build-up towards the album and future releases on their Chasing Dreams platform.

There will undoubtedly be emotional moments ahead. But rather than treating this as a countdown, Anthony’s message is one of appreciation: for the music, the audiences, the friendships and the dream that has taken XiJaro & Pitch from a shared passion for trance to some of the genre’s most important stages.

Anthony Reyers may be stepping away from the DJ booth after 2027, but XiJaro & Pitch’s story is far from over.
