If you name the rising stars in the trance scene, Andrew Rayel is definitely someone who’s named first. Now Andrew has released his first artist album. That’s a good reason for us to talk with him. Enjoy reading! 😉
TranceAttack: First of all, congrats for the release of your first artist album “Find Your Harmony”. How long did you work on the album and what can the listener expect?
Andrew Rayel: Thank You! Really excited for the album release, simply can’t wait for everyone to have a listen! The album took over 2 years of work, and people should expect an album of 18 tracks, a journey in which love, destiny, dreams, unity, passion, and inspiration is what the album is all about and most important for them to find their harmony.
TranceAttack: I know that it is always difficult for a producer, but please tell us which one is your personal favorite from “Find Your Harmony” and why?
Andrew Rayel: Impossible for me to choose, every track has a story behind it, and has its own special meaning and place in my heart. Every track was my favorite when I was producing it and at the end all of them are the part of the same story. 🙂
TranceAttack: When you try compare your latest releases like “EIFORYA” and “Dark Warrior” with older releases like “550 Senta” you can interpretate a development into more big room sound. How would you describe the typical “Andrew Rayel” Sound in 2014? Do you see a similar development?
Andrew Rayel: Andrew Rayel will always be Andrew Rayel, my sounds will never change, and trance will be the genre that’s always close to my heart, but as an artist, when you compare tracks like “550 Senta” to “Dark Warrior”, it’s simply me being what an artist should be, and that’s experimenting and trying new things to my sounds, if you stay in a box, and not move around it or go outside that box and discover the beauty of life, than you’re doing nothing. I want to think that I’m free and will always create the sound that I love, and for sure not because it’s popular, or actual, and at the end It’s producers choice what he wants to do, and fans choice to listen / like it or not.
I will always keep my aether style with classic melodies , strings, piano etc. but there is always room for new things.
TranceAttack: When you look back to your first releases in the trance scene till the release of your first artist album these days… Are there days you think you are still in a dream?
Andrew Rayel: The entire thing is a dream for me, but dreams that are becoming to reality, which I’m so humble and thankful about.
TranceAttack: What is your opinion on the future of the EDM?
Andrew Rayel: From what I see, the future of EDM is looking bright for sure, I mean couple of years ago you can barely hear DJ productions on national radio, and look now… you can even see how clubs and festivals are becoming bigger, and I only hope it will keep growing. Someone will say that it’s to mainstream and there is lack of creativity, but as always evolution needs time and I think in the future EDM music will be much more interesting and listeners will be more educated. I may not like everything that Is happening with EDM music now but for sure it had a big impact on the evolution of music in general, and I hope it will grow into more complex forms.
TranceAttack: Thanks for the interview and we wish you all the best for the future!
