On the 26th of February, in some parts of the world, the National Tell a Fairy Tale Day is celebrated. Humanity’s oral histories, myths, and legends, have nowadays been written down and became known over the world as fairy tales. At the same time, on the 20th of March, the Spring equinox, the World Storytelling Day is globally marked.
It is a good time for telling stories and epic histories. We tell stories as we’re sailing towards the Solstice and towards a new future. These are meaningful days to all of us, fueling our imagination, leading it to adventurous realms, but not only. The purpose of stories is to share wisdom and teach the fundamentals learned by humanity during centuries. Having this knowledge, we can paint our way into the unknown without feeling completely astray.
“Seven Seas”, the newest Paul Van Dyk’s and Fuenka’s collaboration, is a beautiful, haunting question mark about our evolution. It is an exquisite musical sail into the unknown, as well as a powerful and hopeful journey.
We’ve arrived to the times in history when what used to be a far-fetched thinking is shaping its way into our current reality. We are globally and relevantly interacting, humans, nature, and AIs. It is a mystery and remains our adventure, what would be the outcome of these times and what kind of stories would be revealed through history.
But hope, as a mystical promise and true bond over all times, one of the primary fundamentals of the human beings, never leaves us alone in the darkened sky, as our stories teach us. This wisdom is masterfully underlined in music, as well as in the poem imbedded in one of the versions of the track, “Seven Seas/The Poem”. This poem is created by an AI and it is beautiful. The statements there are based on the human experience and wisdom and they are true.
This strengthening message is rising wonderfully as a conclusion of an ever after musical story about ourselves, our explorations and hope. It is a beautiful painting of history.
The dark groove of the track is gradually evolving into a gliding light of courage, endurance and strength. The harmony created is a challenge of feelings, a musical epic of the human dreams travelling the waves, to an unknown destination. The expansive synths and driving rhythm create a sense of decisive forward motion, as the human spirit’s resilience in the face of uncertainty. The music doesn’t just tell a us story, it is the wind in our sails.
We are changing, constantly, as we’re interacting and building together, hopefully, towards good. “Seven Seas” invites us to contemplate on our sail into the future stories and history, with hope as the ultimate beacon.
If we keep looking for ourselves with honesty, if what we’ll share and teach is love and hope, maybe the ship we’ll have a great adventure, reaching good shores for everyone.
Stories teach us about our history and who we are. Music teaches us in equal measures about our dreams, escapes, our inner strength and hope. We invite you to find your own hopeful adventure with “Seven Seas”, by Paul Van Dyk and Fuenka.
