Tinlicker – Cold Enough For Snow

[PIAS] Électronique provides the platform for the third studio album from Tinlicker, their awaited answer to 2022’s “In Another Lifetime”. There, it settles with a soft, emphatic elegance, not unlike the flurries to which the LP’s title alludes.

“Cold Enough For Snow” finds Tinlicker’s Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer operating ever-meticulously within their wheelhouse. The production, characteristically diamond-sharp, carries depth complemented by striking toplines from Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson, Editors frontman Tom Smith, and English indie rock band Circa Waves, among others. Across its 13 tracks, “Cold Enough For Snow” strikes a balance between propulsive melodic techno and cerebral, soul-stirring progressive — a sonic palette that has historically won the Utrecht-based twosome acclaim.
