ZOYA – Eternity

Creating an album often stems from an artist’s deliberate intent, but for ZOYA, her debut LP, Eternity, unfolded naturally from an extraordinary journey through grief and healing. Sparked by the heartache of losing her mother to COVID-19 in 2021, ZOYA channeled her emotions into music, beginning with When Heaven Calls. Initially a standalone track, this heartfelt piece blossomed into a full album, capturing a spectrum of feelings and experiences.

ZOYA reflects, “Losing my mother suddenly brought life’s transience into sharp focus. Music became my sanctuary, allowing me to process the overwhelming grief. Each track in Eternity holds its own story, forming a tapestry of love, pain, and healing.” She envisions the album as a timeless gift, where her soul resonates through the melodies, offering listeners solace and connection.

Eternity honors a profound personal loss and marks a pivotal year in ZOYA’s career. In 2023 she reached new heights, contributing to the iconic In Search of Sunrise 20 compilation, playing across new cities and countries, and remixing for major artists, including Markus Schulz.

The album’s 13 tracks are a deeply immersive experience, blending sorrow and celebration. Titles like Gone, Endless, and Eternity reflect the emotional weight of its creation. However, the album transcends grief, serving as a cathartic celebration of life’s fleeting beauty. Rich with intuitive melodies and intricate production, Eternity flows seamlessly, much like a ZOYA live set, where each track complements and enhances the next.

Instrumentals like the progressive Gravity, the harmonic Riverside, and the Balearic-tinged Crystal Cove showcase ZOYA’s stylistic range while amplifying the emotional resonance of her vocal-driven tracks. Gone captivates with poignant lyrics, while One [We’d Be Love] and Free (featuring FACTORe & SCHROEDS) evoke vivid emotional contrasts. The occasional collaborations, such as Freya with Nourey and the meditative closing track Purple Skies featuring Dennis Sheperd, add dynamic textures to the album’s narrative.
