A shimmering slice of pure trance euphoria, “Time” finds German legends Talla 2XLC and YORK channeling three decades of dance-floor craft into one soaring seven-minute anthem: 138 BPM of orchestral-kissed breakdowns, spoken-word nostalgia and a piano-driven peak that feels purpose-built for those 2 a.m. “hands-in-the-air” moments. The collaboration distills everything the pair stand for—melody, momentum and emotional lift—while hinting at future festival-stage dominance.
“Time” immediately coats the senses with luminous pads and whispered vocal snippets, inviting dancers into a suspended moment where “time” itself seems to dissolve. The production is crisp yet lush, a hallmark of both artists’ recent output.
The mid-track breakdown is a “sonic masterpiece” lifted straight from the press notes: sweeping orchestral strings glide over shimmering plucks while spoken vox add a contemplative, almost filmic aura. At the drop, weightless piano chords collide with heaving supersaw synths and a thunderous kick, triggering classic hands-skyward euphoria—the kind perfected in Talla’s legendary Technoclub sets. Clocking in at 138 BPM, the track bridges intimate club nights and main-stage peak time, sitting neatly between uplifting trance and modern festival power.
Talla 2XLC (Andreas Tomalla) is a true pioneer of German electronic music. In the early ’80s, he coined the term “techno” while working in a Frankfurt record store, then founded the influential Technoclub in 1984—a launchpad for countless artists and the precursor to today’s trance and techno scenes. Across decades, through projects like Moskwa TV, Bigod 20, and the Technoclub mix series, he has remained a vital presence—producer, remixer, DJ, cultural advocate (including spearheading MOMEM, Frankfurt’s Museum of Modern Electronic Music), and guardian of that classic trance spirit.
York began in 1997 as the guitar-laced trance project of brothers Torsten and Jörg Stenzel, scoring U.K. chart success with melodic anthems such as “The Awakening,” “On the Beach,” and “Farewell to the Moon.” Over time, Jörg stepped away from studio and touring duties, and York evolved into Torsten Stenzel’s solo banner, under which he continues to release sunset-tinged trance, downtempo, and chill-out music on labels like Armada, Technoclub, and Planet Love.
Today, York’s identity is inseparable from Torsten’s signature blend of Balearic guitar hooks, cinematic atmospheres and club-ready energy—an approach he has carried into recent reworks and new originals that keep the project’s legacy alive while firmly underlining its status as a one-man creative vessel.

A near-perfect synergy of classic trance emotion and modern punch. Minor deduction only because it leaves us craving an even longer “Time” to revel in that breakdown. “Time” is proof that, in the right hands, the trance clock never stops—it simply ticks louder.
